Located off of Third and Plum Street in downtown Patriot. The park belongs to all Patriots, giving them life as well as recognition to the people who have made the town of Patriot what it is today.
George Miller, resident of Patriot, designed the park, incorporating the American flag and service flags including Army, Navy, Marine, Coast Guard, and Air Force. Other flags recognize parts of our history including the POW/MIA, State of Indiana, Town of Patriot, Patriot School Memorial, Continental, Grand Union, Betsy Ross, Bennington and the Star Spangled Banner.
The park showcases a replica of the Patriot Elementary School bell tower which houses the original bell from the former structure which chimes every three hours. An etching that recognizes the “Minutemen” of the 1800s to present-day soldiers, granite markers explaining the history of the park, and a Patriot Water Company Memorial which has served all of Switzerland County, except the town of Vevay, for over 40 years; all make this park a special place to visit.
